YOUR LIBRARY CARD

Your Minuteman library card proves you with borrowing privileges at 35 public libraries and access to the collections of seven academic libraries located to the west of Boston. 


 PUBLIC LIBARIES

These include Acton, Arlington, Ashland, Bedford, Belmont, Brookline, Cambridge, Concord, Dedham, Dover, Framingham, Franklin, Holliston, Lexington, Lincoln, Maynard, Medfield, Medford, Medway, Millis, Natick, Needham, Newton, Norwood, Somerville, Stow, Sudbury, Waltham, Watertown, Wayland, Wellesley, Weston, Westwood, Winchester, Woburn.
 

ACADEMIC LIBRARIES (Requests only - no walk-ins)

These include: Dean College, Framingham State College, Lasell College, Mass Bay Community College, Pine Manor College, Mount Ida College, Newbury College. 

 

BORROWING LIBRARY MATERIALS

Please present your Minuteman library card when borrowing materials. 

Your are responsible for all materials borrowed on your card.  Parents are responsible for materials borrowed by their children eighteen years old and younger.

Notify the library immediately if your card is lost.  Notify the library of any change of street address and e-mail address.


 LOAN PERIODS 

  • Three Weeks -- Books , Audiocassettes, Compact Discs, Periodicals, E-readers and many DVDs.
  • One Week -- New & Browsing DVDs, Electronic Games, Playaway viewers, High Demand Items
  • One Day -- Museum Passes
  • Overnight -- Reference Books (with approval)

       

    RENEWALS
    Materials are renewable twices, for a total of 6 extra weeks with the exception of periodicals, High Demand items, DVDs, Museum Passes

    Materials may be renewed in person, by telephone or on-line using the My Account link.

     

     

     

    RESERVES

    You may reserve items yourself through the Minuteman Catalog or library staff can do it for you.  When the itme is ready for pick-up you will be notified by e-mail or U.S. Mail if you request it.

    LATE FEES

    Late Fees are charged for each day an item is overdue, excluding Sundays and any days the library is closed.  Fines accumulate until the item is returned to any Minuteman Library.

    • Senior citizen discount  - Fines are $.10 per day for materials that normally have a $.20 per day fine -- no senior discount on other fines.
    • Overdue fines are not charged for days the library is closed.
    • Items overdue 21 days or more, and materials on reserve for another patron cannot be renewed.
    • No overdue fine for incomplete video/DVD/CD/Cassettes returned on time
    • Extended 6 week loan period upon request.
