VOLUNTEERS
Are you looking for a way to support the ongoing mission of the Wellesley Free Library? Volunteering your time and skill is an excellent way to show your support and make a meaningful difference by enhancing the Library's programs and services.
The Library is currently looking for energetic volunteers to help in a range of on-site and strategic roles. So if you have a passion for your community and for learning, consider putting your talents to use here.
On-site Roles
There are several volunteer opportunities, listed below, for people who want to work in the library environment itself with fellow volunteers and staff. These roles require the ability to commit to a regular schedule of at least two hours a week for a minimum of 16 weeks. We also ask that you keep your hours as regular as possible, call in when you cannot make it, and provide advanced notice of vacations.
1. Roles at Supporting Organizations
The Library's continued success depends on the excellent work of our volunteer Board of Trustees, and supporting organizations: The Friends of the Wellesley Free Libraries, The Centennial Fund, and The Wellesley Free Library Foundation. If you would like to play a role in determining the future strategic direction of library programs and services, or fundraising and awareness initiatives, please contact Janice Coduri by e-mail or at 781-235-1610 x1100 to learn more.

New volunteers will be asked to fill out an application form and CORI Request Form. It is available in the Administrative Office (second floor of the Main Library), or online
Training (On-site only)
When you become an on-site volunteer, you will be assigned a Staff Supervisor, who will provide proper training. Because of staffing considerations, it will probably be necessary to arrange training on a weekday, although we will try to accommodate your schedule as much as possible.
Thank you for your interest in the Volunteer Program. We hope you will find your volunteer experience at the Library a pleasant and rewarding one.

If you have a special skill or interest that you would like to share on an ongoing basis, talk with us. To run a monthly program requires a very special volunteer, one who is qualified and willing to give a lot of time to preparing the program as well as be available to run the program. Some Library programs being run by volunteers include: Stitch and Chat, Write Right Writers’ Group, and Read to a Dog.
