A Message from the Library Director
In 2008 we celebrate five years of successful library service at the new Main Library.
On June 1st, 2003, the Wellesley Free Library opened its new Main Library. The new building has rapidly become a community gathering place with its many comfortable seating areas, spacious stacks for browsing, wonderful children's room and community meeting space.
The number and variety of educational and entertaining books, media, programs and services offered by the Library have increased annually. Beyond the walls of the building, our webpage and online catalog are used by thousands of people each week.
Although it's hard to believe that five years in the new Library have passed so quickly, we continue to improve and grow library service to the Wellesley community day after day. There is much to look forward to! The Board of Library Trustees is developing a new Strategic Plan featuring the highest quality of service, collections, and facilities for Library users.
There are so many individuals and supporting groups to thank for their part in the success of the Library! Much appreciation is due to all the board and committee members, volunteers, staff members and customers who make the Wellesley Free Library a special place, right now and in the days and years ahead.
