About this database
Learn-A-Test provides hundreds of practice exams for school, college and career. Users may start and restart the tests, take them at home, school or at work and retake them as needed. Each test is scored with explanations given for each answer.

- After you’ve selected a test (and signed in) you are given instructions for your particular exam.
- Read the instructions and click on Start.
- The questions are all multiple choice. Click in the circle adjacent to the correct answer.
- Each question gives the option of skipping the question and returning later.
- Available at all times, while taking the test, are tabs for reading the test instructions, pausing the test to finish at another time or finishing and scoring the test.

Your Score
When you click on Score My Test, you will be shown any unanswered questions and asked whether you’d like to answer them. When you have answered all the questions (or chosen not to) choose Score My Test again and your test results will appear. Learn-a-Test provides an overall score and percentage, and also presents a score for each major skill being tested. Click on View Answers to see the correct answer fo each question and an explanation for each.

Tips
- Write down your username and password. Though it is very easy to create another new account,
- you will not have access to the tests you’ve already taken. Learn-a-Test does not provide a
- “forgot your password?” option common on email accounts and some web sites.
- When you choose Finish Later, you will have 30 days to come back and finish.
- You may change your answers at any time while you are taking the test.
- Some tests are timed and will display a running count of time remaining. All other tests give an
- approximate time for finishing.
- Check out the resume-making (and other job-searching skills) section.
|
My Account
Links are available to My Account both before and after the actual test. Learn-a-Test keeps a record of the tests you’ve taken and the results of the tests on this page. This is also where you look to find any tests you have not finished and would like to continue.

Other Resources
Wellesley Free Library continues to buy exam preparation books in print format. In most cases, the tests are shelved with books on the subject being tested (e.g. stockbroker exams with books on the stock market). More general academic tests are placed with books on education. If you cannot find a test book in the catalog using the name or initials of the test, try using the keyword examinations with the test subject matter (e.g. firefighter examinations). As always, if you are having trouble locating a practice exam, ask a Reference Librarian for assistance.
