Alex Gavis, President
Alexander C. Gavis is a member of the Corporate Legal Department of Fidelity Investments in Boston, Massachusetts. He handles legal affairs for Fidelity's retail and retirement brokerage businesses. He is also the legal counsel for Fidelity's e-business initiatives.
In addition to his work at Fidelity, Mr. Gavis has extensive experience in the financial services industry, having served at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Investment Company Institute, both in Washington DC. His experience also includes handling mergers and acquisitions at Salomon Brothers Inc., in New York, NY.
He is a frequent speaker on regulatory and legal issues and has been appointed to a number of government committees. He has served as chair of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's E-Brokerage Committee and Social Networking Task Force. He is currently an adjunct professor of law at Suffolk University Law School, and has written a number of articles on security and e-business law topics. In the spring of 2000, he was appointed to the Federal Trade Commission's Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security.
Mr. Gavis received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he serviced as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He also served as a judicial law clerk for The Honorable William T. Allen, Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery for the State of Delaware. He received his B.A. with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College.

John Harrington, Treasurer
John Harrington is a Director, Consultant Relations Group, at Turner Investment Partners, Inc. John is responsible for developing and strengthening Turner Investments' relationships with institutional consultants in the United States and providing them with the necessary information about Turner for their clients. He joined Turner in 2009 and has 19 years of investment experience. Previously, John was in Turner Investments' institutional sales group with responsibility for marketing to endowments and foundations
Prior to joining Turner Investment Partners, John was a Vice President of Marketing & Consultant Relations at Acadian Asset Management. He was responsible for endowment and foundation, insurance and Taft/Harley sales west of the Mississippi and Washington DC. John served as a consultant relations officer for 12 national consultants and as relationship manager for several key accounts. John has also held leadership positions at Wellington Mangement Company, LLP and Fidelity Investments.
John holds a masters of Science in Finance and a Masters in Business Administration from The Carroll School of Management, Boston College; a Masters in Anglo-Irish Literature, University College Dublin (Ireland) and an AB in English, Boston College. John also holds both Series 7 and 63 licenses.
He has lived in Wellesley with his wife, Bethany, and two children since 2006 and has been a member of the WFL Foundation Board of Directors since 2008.

Amanda Kennedy, Clerk
Amanda Kennedy was born and raised in New York City on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Kennedy received a BA with honors in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. in 1994. She previously worked at Harvard Business School, Gateway Computers and TJX Companies. Kennedy received her C.F.A. in 1997 and remains a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, Inc. Additionally, she has dedicated her time and service to several Boston philanthropic organizations over the years: Grant Advisee for Today's Girls, Tomorrows' leaders, United Way; Investment Committee Member, Sherrill House - A Not-for-Profit Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; Board member of REACH Beyond Domestic Violence; and was named to the Wellesley Free Library Foundation in 2009. Kennedy, her husband (Sam) and family have been residents of Wellesley for 8 years.

Lynne Brady Wagner, Director
Lynne Brady Wagner grew up in Kansas City, MO. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Speech-Language Pathology, respectively, at St. Louis University in St. Louis. Lynne then moved to Chicago and worked clinically at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). While there, she earned a graduate certificate in Healthcare Ethics at Rush University Medical School and was chosen to pursue a Fellowship in Clinical Medial Ethics at the University of Chicago. She was the first Disability Ethics Fellow at RIC.
Lynne relocated with her husband to Boston in 1997 and has worked at The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Since 1999 she has served as the Director of the Stroke Rehabilitation Program and chair of the Ethics Advisory Committee. Lynne is an adjunct instructor in Healthcare Ethics at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions. She has authored numerous publications and presents nationally on the subjects of medical ethics in the context of rehabilitation and disability.
Lynne is a volunteer for the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She was elected to the Div. 13 Steering Committee 2006 - 2008 and as Associate Coordinator 2011 - 2013. Additionally, she is a volunteer for the Rehab and Recovery Committee for the American Heart/Stroke Association of the Northeast Region where she received the Healthcase Professional award for 2010.
Since moving to Wellesley in 2006 Lynne has become very involved with the Wellesley Free Library. In 2008 Lynne co-chaired the successful campaign to re-open the Hills and Fells Branches of the WFL. Along with Ann-Mara Lanza and Amanda Henshon she was named to the Townsman 10 for this effort. Lynne is also a volunteer for the Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club. She lives in Wellesley with her husband and three children and has been a member of the WFL Foundation Board of Directors since 2009.

Tim Driver, Director
Tim Driver is a media executive with leadership experience at Fortune 500 companies and startups. Driver is currently CEO of RetirementJobs.com, the leading career website in the U.S. for people over age 50. He founded the Waltham, MA-based corporation in 2005. The firm's brand and advocacy work on behalf of older Americans has been recognized by leaders in the private, non-profit and public sectors, including the United States Senate and the White House. Driver appears regularly in the national media, including the Wall Street Journal and CNN.
Prior, Driver ran the media division of Salary.com. As Senior Vice President and a member of the firm's Board of Directors, he innovated by arming millions of Americans with compensation information once held only by employers. Through these efforts, the site became the leading consumer source of salary data. He spearheaded successful public relations campaigns that included segments on Good Morning America and The Today Show.

Steve Hansen, Director
Steve is a partner at the international law firm, Bingham, McCutchen LLP and concentrates in corporate and securities litigation and regulatory matters. He is a past chair of the American Bar Litigation Section's Association securities Litigation Committee and the Boston Bar Association's Securities Enforcement and Litigation Committee. Steve is a fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.
Steve currently serves as a deacon of the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church and is a past chair of the Church's finance committee. He was a member of the Town's Advisory Committee from 2006 - 2009.
He formerly served as a director of the Political Asylum and Immigration Representation (PAIR) project and the Greater Boston Diabetes society.
Steve is a graduate of Yale Law School and Swarthmore College.

Elizabeth P. Powell, Director
Elizabeth "Betsy" Parker Powell was the co-founder, chair and treasurer of Diamond Machining Technology Inc. (DMT), a Marlborough, MA based manufacturer and worldwide distributor of diamond surfaced tool sharpeners. In June 2005, DMT Inc. was acquired by Vogel Capital.
For over 25 years, Mrs. Powell has been an Assistant Professor of Management and has served as a trustee and overseer at Babson College. Currently, she is a member of the Babson Global Advisory Board. She was awarded the Babson Medal in 1989, the College's highest service award, and in 2001 the Cruckshank Award, highest Alumni Association service award. She has also taught at the University of Massachusetts/Lowell.
She serves as a director of Associated Industries of MA(AIM), Read & Barton Corp, Taunton, MA, Lytron Corp., Woburn, MA and The Wellesley Free Library Foundation. For 18 years she was a Director of the Massachusetts Technology Development Coproration. She is a Trustee of North Hill Life Care Community, Needham, MA, Governor of The Gore Place, Waltham, MA, and a member of the President's Council, Franklin Olin College of Engineering, Needham, MA.
She has been an elected a member of the Wellesley Town Meeting since 1973, from 1973 to1976, she served as Secretary of the Town Committee to Study the Needs and Requirements of the Wellesley Free Library. She also worked on the first campaign to save the branch libraries and was a member of the Executive Committee of the WFL Centennial Fund from 1983 to 1986. She has been a charter trustee of Phillips Andover Academy since 1980. She was a member of the board of directors at Bank Boston-Metro-West and Harvard Community Health Plan in Cambridge, MA, as well as other civic and cultural boards.
Betsy earned a BA from Smith College, a MA from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomancy, and MBA with Distinction from Babson College. She chaired The Fletcher Fund from 1995 to 2000. She was the recipient of the Tufts' Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award in 1999 and the Dean's Medal at Fletcher's 70th Anniversary Gala held in Washington, DC, in October 2003. She is also a member of the Tufts University International Board of Overseers.
Betsy was born in Denver, CO, and is married to David. They live in Wellesley and have three adult children and six grand children.

Lou Richardson, Director
Lou is the national Contract Marketing Manager for the agent Channel Operation for Xerox Corporation. She is responsible for financial contract negotiations and pricing for the sales operation. She joined Xerox Corporation in Honolulu where she served as Controller for Hawaii, Guam, Samoa and Trust Territory. During two years in San Francisco, her experience included working with major accounts including Bechtel, Intel, Chevron and Hewlett-Packard before transferring to Boston. She has since worked in a variety of finance positions with increasing levels of responsibility.
Formerly a board member of the YWCA Honolulu, she is currently a member of the audit committee of the Visiting Nurses Association of Boston, former President of The Boston Club, and an Overseer of Colby College. She has a BA from Colby College. She has lived in Wellesley for 27 years and has been a member of The Foundation Board since its inception in 2009.

Harry Sherr, Director
Harry Sherr is the principal of a local sports agency representing athletes from and playing in the New England area. In addition, Harry services as a consultant to various non-profit organizations that provide credit counseling and personal finance education courses to individuals involved in consumer bankruptcies.
Previously, Harry served as a senior fellow to the InCharge Education foundation and the National Endowment for Financial Education. From 1994-2000, Harry was the United States Trustee for the region based in San Diego. There he supervised and administered bankruptcies in San Diego, Hawaii, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Harry is a former bank compliance officer and Federal Reserve Bank bank examiner.
Harry practiced bankruptcy and entertainment law in Los Angeles; while there, he volunteered as a judge pro-tem in the Beverly Hills Municipal Court from 1989- 1994. From 1999- 2003, Harry served on the Historical Resources Board for the City of San Diego. He is a graduate of the 2000 class of LEAD, San Diego.

Pam Stirrat, Director
Pam Stirrat is a 30 year resident of Wellesley. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Boston University School of Law. Since leaving the practice of law, she has been involved in many local volunteer activities, including most recently, board member and President of the Friends of the Wellesley Free Libraries. She continues to be involved in the work of the Friends and its books sales. She serves on the Library Committee to establish the first One Books, One Wellesley program.
She is also actively involved in the Wellesley ("Village") Congregational Church, currently serving as a member of the Board of Deacons.
She is married to Craig Stirrat; they are the parents of four adult children. She manages the business operations of her husband's medical practice. She enjoys reading, travel and lifelong learning opportunities.

Alexander Washburn, Director
Sandy Washburn grew up in Greenwich, CT, attended high school at St. Marks School in Southborough, MA and earned a BA at Amherst College and an MBA at Columbia University following four years service aboard an aircraft carrier in the Navy. As a young banker at State Street Bank in Boston, he joined the board of the recently founded USS Constitution Museum, serving as treasurer and president during his 25 years as an active trustee. After a 23 year banking career, Sandy joined MIT as a senior major gift officer where he has been employed for 15 years.
