Wellesley Free Library Receives Grants for Fells Branch Project
The renovation of Wellesley’s Fells Branch Library is on a roll!
In April, the Wellesley Free Library Foundation Gala raised money for an exciting project that will transform the Fells Branch into a focused early learning library. Click here to learn more about the Fells Renovation!
The privately funded Fells Branch recently received several grants that will assist the Board of Library Trustees and the WFL Foundation in this effort.
Sincere thanks to the Fund for Wellesley for its $8,245 award. The mission of the Fund for Wellesley is to promote the common good and to benefit all residents of the town. For more information, visit thefundforwellesley.org.
The project was also recently awarded a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant for $10,000 from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC). LSTA is administered on the federal level by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in the Commonwealth by the MBLC. More information about LSTA can found at www.mass.gov/mblc.
Thanks as well to the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club, which awarded $400 toward the Fells Branch renovation project.
The Fells Branch is temporarily closed for these renovations, and will re-open in the late fall of 2018.
Please contact the Wellesley Free Library Foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org for information on how to support this valuable and innovative project.
