Accepting new applications beginning September 1, 2026

Volunteering at Wellesley Free Library

Support the Wellesley Free Library by sharing your time and talents. Volunteers play an important role in enhancing library programs, services, and community outreach. If you’re passionate about learning, literacy, and serving the community, we’d love to hear from you.

The next volunteer application period opens on September 1, 2026.

On-Site Volunteer Opportunities

The Library offers a variety of on-site volunteer roles where you’ll work alongside staff and fellow volunteers in a welcoming environment.

To ensure consistency and meaningful training, on-site volunteers are asked to provide advance notice of planned vacations, commit to a regular schedule of at least 2 hours per week, volunteer for a minimum of 16 weeks, and maintain a consistent schedule whenever possible.

Volunteer with our Supporting Organizations

The Library is also supported by two dedicated nonprofit organizations:

These organizations offer opportunities to support the Library through fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement. Visit their websites to learn more about getting involved.

Training

When you become an on-site volunteer, you will be assigned a Staff Supervisor, who will provide you with training.

How to Apply

New volunteers are asked to fill out a volunteer application and a volunteer CORI form. These forms will be available September 1, 2026. Print versions will also be available in the Administrative Office (second floor of the Main Library). Return to the library with attention to the Assistant Director or email to welmail3@minlib.net.
