Robots are making a splash at the WFL!

Posted on August 14, 2016

Our two new NAO robots are exploring all the favorite spots at the WFL and of course one of them is the fish tank! (Thank you Friends of the WFL.) They’ve also been on the lookout for good names – how about Nemo and Dory? If you’ve got an idea for robot names, please let us know. Entry forms are available at the Main Library, Hills Branch or Fells Branch and online at #nametherobots until September 9.

Making a splash at the WFL!

While these robots can’t swim, they can be programmed to dance, sing, tell jokes, and more! Check out our Introduction to Choregraphe classes starting in September to learn the basics of making the robots move and speak, or come to a Demo Day to see them do their tricks!

A big thank you to the Wellesley Free Library Foundation and the guests at the 2016 Foundation Gala who through their generosity made the purchase of the NAO robots possible. We’ll have further updates about the robots on the library’s Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter as we get closer to their debut on September 17!
