Introducing Kanopy, a movie streaming service now available to Wellesley residents with your library card! Stream thousands of documentaries, indie films, classic films, and other original content to your computer, mobile device, or Roku. Movies are available on demand with no waiting and no overdue fees!

The new Kanopy ticket system is now live (12.2023). Tickets replace the previous play credit system. Enjoy 18 tickets per calendar month. Your tickets reset on the first day of the month, and unused tickets don’t roll over to the next month. After logging into the Kanopy collection on the web or in the app, a pop-up tutorial explains the new ticket system with a link to learn more on tickets. Every title is clearly labeled with a ticket value and viewing window, so your patrons will know how many tickets a film or TV season will use prior to pressing play.

Simply visit Kanopy here to create an account.

1. Click on “Sign Up” in the top right-hand corner.
2. Enter your name, email address, and create a password.
3. Kanopy will send you a verification email. Verify your email address by clicking on the link in the email.
4. After verification, the link will take you back to the Kanopy website where you can search for the “Wellesley Free Library” and type in your library card number.
