Wellesley High School Author: Peter Ajemian (1971)

At WHS Peter was editor of The Bradford student newspaper, and took the class pictures for the Wellesleyan yearbook.  Then, with a degree in journalism from Boston University and an MPA from the Kennedy School at Harvard, he spent many years as a reporter and researcher, interested in the interplay between journalism and politics.  In his year as a research fellow at Boston University’s McCormack Institute, he wrote a comprehensive study of how the media influenced the results of the 1992 presidential campaign.  He wrote for The Boston Phoenix, The Lowell Sun, Martha’s Vineyard Gazette, and North Shore Sunday; and also for British journalist David Frost, environmentalist Ralph Nader, New York Governor Mario Cuomo, and Democratic Senator George McGovern.  His twin sister Kathy (also WHS 1971) died young; Peter joined her in 2022.
