Sofia Romero

Wellesley High School Writer: Sofia Romero (1990)

          Sofia is a writer and editor who lives in the Boston area.  Her short stories, one of which has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, have appeared in numerous literary journals (samples:  “How Whales Came to Be” in Necessary Fiction; “The Moment Wasn’t Ours to Begin With,” in Leon Literary Review; and “Things I Will Never Get Back,” in Blue Mountain Review; and other stories in the journals Rigorous, Door is a Jar, Passengers Journal, Waterwheel Review, Wild Roof Journal, and Chestnut Review). 

            In October 2023, Blackstone will publish her short story collection We Have Always Been Who We Are. When not writing, Sofia is the marketing and communications director at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development.
