Wellesley Reads Together 2015
The Hanging Judge by Michael Ponsor has been chosen for this fall's community reading program.
The book is the recipient of the 2015 Massachusetts Bay One Book Award. It is a work of fiction, based on an actual death penalty case in Springfield, Massachusetts over which the author presided as a federal judge.  Anita Shreve praised The Hanging Judge as "that rare gem: a crackling court procedural with authentic characters and beautiful prose."

Wellesley Free Library and MassBay Community College have joined forces to engage the entire Wellesley community in discussion about one book. Michael Ponsor will visit both the MassBay campus and the Wellesley Free Library in October. Related programs and book discussions are also being planned for the fall.

This exhibit is a celebration of 70 years of the study and practice of drawing and painting.  Arnold received a classical art education.  He majored in art in college, then at the Cooper Union Institute, the Art Students League in NYC, and the Boston Museum of Fine Art.   Arnold’s approach is eclectic, painting in many different styles, matching the style to the subject and his feeling about it.  The pictures range from realism to impressionism, expressionism, and abstraction. They date from 1955 to today. He paints mostly in oil.
