Artist: XUEHUA FAN
For many generations Fan’s family has created Silk Embroidery, a traditional art form in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. As a young child, Fan learned the craft from her mother and other family members. Su embroidery is known for its painting-like appearance—some people have called it “Silk Painting.” Each work is created by hand sewing colored silk threads onto a silk backing to create a picture. Depending on the subject, sometimes threads are split in half, quarters, or even eights to create a fine texture to the picture. Many pictures take weeks or months to create.
Twosomes - Photographer Mark Chester
Twosomes is a compilation of “twosomes and then some.” This is a collection of two pictures of people, places and things that have resonated with the photographer in an emotional, intellectual or whimsical way.
