STORYTIMES - Always drop-in, no registration necessary

AT THE MAIN LIBRARY

Step-up Storytime - Tuesday, 10:30am - Enjoy books, songs, and rhymes in a storytime that helps build early literacy skills for children ages 18 months to 3 years!

Bookbabies - Wednesday and Thursday, 10:30am - Stories, songs, and fingerplays followed by open play for babies ages 0-18 months.  Sponsored by a grant from the Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club.

Stories and Craft - Friday, 10:30am - Stories and fun for ages 2-5. Sponsored by the Friends of the Wellesley Free Libraries.

AT THE BRANCHES

Fells Bookbabies - Tuesday, 10:30am - Stories, songs and fingerplays followed by open play for babies and toddlers ages 0-24 months. Sponsored by a grant from the Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club.

Hills Branch Storycraft - Wednesday, 10:30am - Head for the Hills for stories, songs, and a craft. Ages 2-6 with an adult.

Hills Bookbabies - Friday, 10:30am - Stories, songs, and fingerplays followed by open play for babies and toddlers ages 0-24 months. Sponsored by a grant from the Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club.

CLUBS - Perfect for school-age kids and tweens

Kids Chess Night:   Informal chess club for kids ages 6 and up. All levels welcome.

Second Thursday of each month, from 6:30-7:30pm.

Lego Club: Join our Lego Club, for kids ages 5 and up.  Drop in each week to design and build your own creations using our Legos.  Space will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Every Tuesday, 3:30-4:30pm

Magic the Gathering Club:
Open play of the Magic the Gathering trading card game.  Bring your own deck or play around with the library’s.

Saturdays from 2:00-4:00pm:June 15, July 20, August 17

Kids Read: Kids Read is a book group for kids in grades 2 and 3. Copies of each month's book will be available at the Circulation Desk for you to check out. Please read the book then come and join the discussion. Light refreshments will be served. 

Fridays from 4:00-5:00pm:  Next meeting on August 2

The Reading Club: The Reading Club is a book group for kids in grades 4 and 5 along with a parent.  It meets once a month on Monday at 7:00pm: July 29

Britannica Early Learning Zone (Early Childhood)
Learning Zone is a classroom-tested, interactive learning environment that gives early learners enjoyable, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities to help grow their minds, their spirits, and their intellectual horizons.

   

 New Book of Knowledge -- GO --Grolier Online
Online general encyclopedia. Articles have reading levels for elementary, middle and high school.  Includes current events, a dictionary, and maps.

   

 Learn a Language - Little Pim - Mango has introduced a language learning program for children. Access inside the library is provided with this link.
Access outside the library is provided by first going to Mango, choosing a language, and selecting Little Pim for children.


Look it up - Animals and Earth & Space - PebbleGo has two information databases for children in grades 1-3. Select Animals or Earth & Space. Listen to information about an animal and watch a video. Play games like Habitat Hunt and Predator and Prey. In Earth & Space explore Earth Science, Seasons, Space and Weather.

     TumbleBooks
TumbleBooks are animated, talking books. The collection includes picture books and chapter books.
     OverDrive has downloadable audio and ebooks for children. 
Browse children's materials or search to find a specific title. Sign in to see extra Advantage Program titles for Wellesley residents. They have a gold starburst.
