Wellesley High School Author: Katherine L. Babson Jr. (1965)

Katherine L. Babson Jr. (WHS 1965) is a lifelong resident of Wellesley, where she has served more than 50 years in town government in positions such as Selectman and Town Moderator.  She led the successful effort to create our new high school, and the auditorium is named for her in tribute to her vision and absolute dedication.

After WHS, Gig received her AB from Vassar College, her MBA from Babson College,  her JD from Boston College Law School and an Honorary Doctor of Law from Babson College.  She is now retired from her career as an attorney.

In her retirement, this avid hiker and lifelong dog owner welcomed pandemic puppy Pippi (an irresistibly mischievous black lab) into her life.  Pippi’s charming memoir of her enthusiastic adventures, as dictated to Gig, has been published as “Tails With Gig” (available at Wellesley Books).  Follow where Pippi’s floppy oversized paws will take her next, on Facebook at Katherine Babson.
